We’ve gathered kilos from our own tree… perfect for cracking by the fire, baking into rustic cakes, or drizzling with local honey for a simple, irresistible treat.
🍰 Recipe Inspiration – Gâteau aux Noix de la Mayenne
A simple, traditional walnut cake — moist, nutty, and perfect with a coffee!
Ingredients:
· 200g shelled walnuts
· 100g butter (melted)
· 120g sugar
· 3 eggs
· 2 tbsp flour
· A splash of rum or vanilla
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
2. Grind the walnuts finely (but not to dust).
3. Beat the eggs with sugar until pale, then mix in butter, flour, and walnuts.
4. Add rum or vanilla for that extra French touch.
5. Bake 25–30 mins until golden and fragrant.
Serve with a drizzle of local honey or a spoon of crème fraîche — un vrai goût de la Mayenne!
