If you're staying in the area why not sample the local wines - after all, you're in one of France’s most delicious corners!
Here’s a swirl around some of our regional favourites and what they pair best with (besides a sun-drenched terrace and a smug smile).
Move over Champagne - Crémant de Loire delivers bubbles with flair and without the price tag. Crisp, dry, and dangerously drinkable. Pairs beautifully with goat’s cheese, seafood… or anything, really. Even regret.
🗣️ Local tip: Sip slowly unless you want your “quiet afternoon apéro” to turn into karaoke on the patio by 4pm.
A light and fruity red made mostly from Cabernet Franc. Easy-going, subtly peppery, and just begging to be paired with rillettes, grilled meats, or a really good cheese board.
🍽️ Also excellent with awkward dinner guests - helps the conversation flow better than your GCSE French.
This golden dessert wine is like sunshine in a bottle. Sweet but sophisticated, it’s made from late-harvest Chenin Blanc grapes and is perfect with pâté, blue cheese or a fruit tart.
🍯 Warning: one glass might turn into two, and suddenly you're trying to pair it with crisps. (Not recommended. But also... kinda delicious?)
These are your easy-going, all-day sippers. The reds are mellow and juicy; the rosés are fresh and just slightly off-dry - ideal for a BBQ, picnic, or pretending you’re in a French rom-com.
